Contribution to the theory of normal ionizing shock waves
Abstract
In the present paper, a theory of normal ionizing shock waves is developed, and the structure of the waves is calculated. The formation and evolution of normal ionizing shock waves in an electromagnetic shock tube is examined. The theory is applied to the calculation of plasma parameters for normal ionizing shock waves in hydrogen and helium, making allowance for energy losses by ionization and dissociation.
