Heat transfer from a non-isothermal disk rotating in a quiescent compressible gas
Abstract
An analysis is presented for the development of the axi-symmetric thermal boundary layer on a heated infinite disk rotating in a quiescent compressible gas. The non-similarity situation of a disk having a step-wise surface temperature is considered. A complete description of the temperature distribution is obtained by developing two series solutions in overlapping regions. The solutions presented herein may be extended to an arbitrary radial surface temperature distribution.
