Circuits of thyristor temperature regulation in creep and creep limit tests
Abstract
The operating principles of a thyristor-based temperature regulation circuit for a three-section testing furnace using a positional temperature regulator are described. The effectiveness of the proposed circuit is verified experimentally on a creep rupture testing machine. Deviations from the specified temperature in tests lasting 500 hr is within + or - 3 C. The use of this circuit eliminates any undesired effect of the furnace sections on the regulation of the specimen temperature. A modified circuit diagram of thyristor-based temperature regulation is presented and tested in long-term creep-rupture tests at temperatures between 100 and 1000 C. Deviations from the specified temperature is within + or - 2 C.
