Progress in optical quantum electronics, nonlinear optics, and holography at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR
Abstract
The contributions of studies conducted at the Institute of Physics to the development of quantum electronics, nonlinear optics, and holography are reviewed. Among the significant achievements, one might mention the development of a prism and other tunable dispersion cavities and laser action in mixed semiconductors of the ArB6 group. Ia large class of effective polymethyne dyes. Important work in the foundations of nonlinear crystal optics of nonmetallic crystals, especially semiconductors, was carried out. Holographic methods for correction of coherent beam wavefronts were developed, and dynamic grating recording in semiconductors with fast response has been achieved.
