Model of ring ruby laser with forced mode locking
Abstract
The layout and characteristics of a model of a ruby ring laser having forced mode locking, provided by electrooptic modulation of the cavity losses at the intermode beat frequency, are described. The test method and results for the model are presented. It is shown that the device provides reproducible generation of ultrashort pulses with a length of 2 x 10 to the -11th sec and a peak intensity up to 5 x 10 to the 9th W/sq cm.
