Soft gamma-ray bursts from the source B1900+14
Abstract
Three gamma-ray bursts from a source designated B1900+14 which have been recorded with a 1/64-sec resolution in the 50-150 keV energy window are discussed. For the three events, the rise time is no longer than 8 msec; the abrupt rise in intensity is then followed by a rapid decline. Altogether the bursts lasted 120, 190, and 50 msec. The energy of the source is roughly estimated at about 10 to the 39th erg, which could be produced by nonsteady accretion onto a compact star, or by thermonuclear flashes.
