The emission lines in the spectrum of Nova Delphini 1967
Abstract
On five spectrograms of Nova Del 1967 (HR Del) obtained during the nebular phase in July 1978, the hydrogen emission lines and the O III forbidden emission lines at 4959, 5007 A have multicomponent profiles. Each component represents a separate condensation in the polar caps or in the equatorial belt. In all the emission-line profiles the component structure varies with time. The secular retardation in the expansion of the envelope ejected by the nova is confirmed.
