Semi-empirical method for determining local heat transfer coefficients for flow around a sphere
Abstract
The cooling of a heated solid sphere in a subsonic gas stream is examined. The local heat transfer coefficients, determined on the basis of the temperature distribution in the vicinity of the surface points of the sphere, are calculated. The heat transfer coefficients are presented as functions of polar angle and time.
