Transfer of a free-turbulence scalar field
Abstract
An experiment was conducted to study the spatial structure of free turbulence in a hydrogen jet. Optical techniques were used to study the integral and spectral characteristics of density fluctuations in the jet. Consideration is given to the overall flow pattern, variations of fluctuation energies as a function of x/d and Re, and the behavior of integral and dissipative Lagrangian scales.
