Mass measurement with the electron microscope
Abstract
The use of electron scattering measurements performed in the electron microscope as a means of measurement of particle molecular weight is described. Various potential sources of errors are identified and estimated where possible. Specimen preparation and observation conditions to minimize errors are described, and fd phage is presented as an example of analysis and an illustration of the accuracy obtainable at low dose.
