High-energy, short-pulse, carbon-dioxide lasers
Abstract
The technological development of carbon dioxide lasers systems is discussed in terms of fusion requirements. Pumping mechanisms, optical gain, and energy storage are considered. Short pulse generation and amplification are described with emphasis on system efficiency.
