Temperature and thermal stress analysis of a switching tube anode
Abstract
Details of an analysis performed on a proposed tube anode are presented. The tube configuration is given. The problem was simplified to one dimensional approximations for both the thermal and stress analyses. The underlying assumptions and their implications are discussed. It was concluded that the temperature induced stresses must be minimized in order to maximize the life expectancy of the tube.
