Viscous effects on a turbulent jet near nozzle exit
Abstract
The viscous effects on changes in the velocity profile of an incompressible turbulent jet exhausting into an immiscible ambient medium are analyzed. Under some simplifying conditions, a closed-form solution is obtained. The results demonstrate possible retardation of turbulent jet breakup due to viscous effects.
