Free shear streaming in turbulent undercurrent
Abstract
The results of an experimental study of homogeneous turbulent undercurrent are presented. The measurement procedures for plane-symmetric wake flow and axially symmetric combinative radial and wake flow are detailed, as are the procedures for evaluating the data and the visualization of the flow. Results are presented for streaming behind gratings, the spread of plane-symmetric wakes during turbulent undercurrent, and the construction of a turbulence parameter. Finally, prediction of shear streaming in turbulent and turbulence-free undercurrent is discussed in detail.
