Optimal space trajectories
Abstract
The book gives a comprehensive coverage of optimal powered motion in space, encompassing both high-thrust and low-thrust propulsion systems. The Contensou-Pontryagin maximum principle is applied to obtain equations of optimal trajectories. Particular cases of uniform, central, and multibody gravitational fields are covered. Small-amplitude and time-free transfers are analyzed.
