Error models for strapdown systems
Abstract
The paper surveys the various errors of a strapdown system as related to the gyro, accelerometer, and the whole system. These errors are categorized into static, dynamic, and rectification. Most of these errors can be modeled and corrected in the strapdown computer. For this compensation the individual numerical values of these errors should be known. Some results of the multiposition and rate tests are given to show what may be achieved. Finally, an overview of the angular vibration test and related errors is presented; the realization of this test with a specified three-axis motion simulator is described.
