Operator and diagram techniques for solving intensity moment equations in random media: Application to strong scattering
Abstract
The moment equations for the intensity of an electromagnetic wave propagating in an almost-transparent extended random medium are cast in an integral-operator form. Transport equations and iterative series are derived. Solutions in several limits are given, and series of correction terms are discussed with use of diagram techniques. For simplicity, the treatment is restricted to plane waves, uniform isotropic turbulence, and only to the intensity covariance as far as correction terms are concerned.
