Radiation of a slot parallel to the edge of an ideally conducting half-plane on the interface between two media
Abstract
The factorization method is used to investigate radiation from a slot that is cut parallel to the edge of an ideally conducting half-plane, situated at an interface. The current distribution on the surface of the half plane is examined in detail. An expression is derived for power per unit slot length, taking into account the half-plane edge effect. This analysis has application to the examination of ground effects on the electrical characteristics of slot antennas.
