Some properties of the ray trajectory in the propagation of radio waves in an irregular ionospheric waveguide
Abstract
Ray behavior in a three-dimensional irregular ionospheric waveguide is studied by using the averaging method. Attention is given to variations in angle of arrival for both long and short distances. An irregular waveguide with a parabolic permittivity profile is considered as an example for the use of the averaging method.
