Friction properties and the characteristics of contact deformation of TiC in the homogeneity domain
Abstract
The friction properties of titanium carbide specimens of the composition TiC(0.58) and TiC(0.98) were studied in vacuum. The behavior of the friction properties and wear is plotted vs temperature (20 to 1200 C) and carbon content. It is shown that wear is proportional to the contact area.
