Ion-acoustic solitary waves in an ion-beam-plasma system with nonisothermal electrons
Abstract
A modified KdV equation is obtained for an ion-acoustic solitary wave in an ion-beam-plasma system with cold ions, beam ions and nonisothermal electrons. The effect of the resonant electrons, both trapped and free electrons, of the plasma-ion to beam-ion mass ratio and of the beam-ion concentration on the amplitude and width of the solitary wave is investigated.
