Augmentation of two phase heat transfer with in-line static mixers
Abstract
The effects of the in line static mixers on two phase heat transfer and the pressure drop accompanied by boiling or condensation inside circular tubes were investigated. The heat transfer and pressure drop were obtained during single phase heating, subcooled boiling, saturated boiling as well as condensation of F-113 inside circular tubes with and without static mixers. Stochastic models were developed for two phase heat transfer and pressure drop accompanied by boiling or condensation inside circular tubes with in line static mixers. These models were based on the concept of the general population balance.
