Polarization parameter measurement for K+p elastic scattering below 1 Ge/V/c
Abstract
Polarization parameters in K(+)p elastic scattering from polarized protons were measured at incident kaon momenta of 650, 700, 845, and 940 MeV/c. A butanol type target was cooled to 0.55 K by a He3-He4 refrigerator system, and the free protons were polarized by the method of dynamic nuclear orientation. The scattered particles were detected by a scintillation counter proportional wire chamber system. The data are parametrized by Legendre polynomial expansions, and comparisons are made with predictions of partial wave analyses.
