Wavefront reconstruction in stimulated scattering of light
Abstract
A model for holographic wavefront inversion in stimulated Raman backscattering is proposed. The pump wave interferes with the stimulated backscattering wave and forms an intensity wave, which travels in the same direction as the pump wave. In an optically nonlinear medium this intensity wave is converted into a polarizability wave. The pump wave overtakes this multilayer structure and is reflected from it. The pump wave undergoes a red Doppler shift and is converted into light at the wavelength of the first Stokes component with a wavefront shape that is the inverse of that of the pump wave.
