p-p Phase Shifts and Diproton Resonances in the Mass Range from2.1--2.8 GeV. II ---The 1D_2 (2.17 GeV) Diproton---
On the basis of a new phase-shift solution as summarized in paper I,the 1D_2 (2.17 GeV) diproton state is shown to be represented as aBreit-Wigner resonance at least in the pp elastic channel. Itsresonance parameters are evaluated to give M≈2.17 GeV,Γ∼50-100 MeV and Γel/Γ∼0.1. Arounded cusp effect existing at the N∆-threshold is taken intoaccount. This leads to a level shift of the resonance mass of theorder of 30 MeV. A variety of structures of experimental data isinterpreted on the basis of the phase-shift results as suggesting theexistence of 1D_2 (2.17 GeV) diproton.
