Wave formation in a fluid film flowing down a vertical wall
Abstract
In the present paper, the method of integral relations is used to derive a nonlinear nonstationary equation of two-wave structure for the surface waves of a falling liquid film. A linear analysis of this equation leads to dispersion relations for waves of maximal amplitude. The characteristics of waves of maximal amplitude are compared with the experiment.
