Ca II infrared triplet in the spectra of UV Ceti stars.
Abstract
Observations with a single-stage image tube in the 8000-9000 A range show that the absorption lines of the Ca II triplet are anomalously weak in the spectra of several UV Cet flares stars compared with standard stars. The anomaly may result from blending of the Ca II absorption lines with emission components. Some of the physical parameters of the region responsible for the Ca II emission are estimated.
