A widely-tunable narrow-linewidth Nd-glass laser
Abstract
The design of an economical compact widely tunable neodymium-glass laser is described, and possible applications to a variety of resonance absorption and scattering experiments are noted. Line narrowing and tuning is achieved, using two transmission Fabry-Perot etalons. Particular attention is given to the best choice of etalon parameters to optimize laser performance with respect to power output, linewidth, and lasing at a single wavelength.
