What cooks with gamma rays?
Abstract
Possible targets of gamma-ray astronomy, including investigation of the sources of gamma ray bursts occurring several times per year, gamma-ray pulsars, quasars, and galaxies, are discussed. Possible implications of the low intensity of high-energy (above 100 MeV) gamma rays in the background are considered, and the current status of gamma-ray astronomy is briefly outlined.
