Technical fundamentals of rocket flight
Abstract
The basic relations of the theory of rocket motion are reviewed, along with the characteristics of single- and multistage liquid-propellant rockets. The design and principle of rocket engines and their major components are discussed, with emphasis on gasdynamic and thermal processes and energy conversion. The optics covered include the forces and moments acting on a rocket, ballistic trajectories, means of stabilization and flight control, and ground-based facilities.
