A method of determining radiographic elastic constants of multiphase materials, convenient for practical applications
Abstract
In the X-ray stress analysis of heterogeneous materials, the influence of the other phases on the radiographic elastic constants employed must be taken into consideration. In the present paper, diagrams and formulations are presented, using which radiographic constants of multiphase materials can be determined with appreciable savings in computational labor and time. The application of the results to fiber-strengthened composites, laminates, sintered, and batch materials is illustrated by examples.
