Heat transfer during free convection on a magnetic cylinder in a uniform magnetic field
Abstract
Experimental and theoretical results are presented on free-convection heat transfer between a magnetic cylinder and magnetized fluid in a uniform magnetic field. Experimental results obtained using interferometry are found to be in good qualitative agreement with theoretical results, based on the boundary layer approximation. But from the quantitative point of view there are discrepancies that can be explained by the inaccuracy of the boundary layer approximation.
