The frequency analysis of low-amplitude delta Scuti stars - II. HD 52788: a new variable delta Delphini star.
Abstract
HD 52788 is announced to be a new δ Scuti star (ΔV ≲ 0.05 mag). Strömgren and Hβphotometry show that this star is a giant at the red edge of the observed δ Scuti instability strip with probable abundance anomalies. The light variations are complex and a frequency analysis of the present data set is shown to be inadequate. Real variations on a time-scale of 15-20 min are claimed.
