Resonant vibrations of gyroscopic systems
Abstract
The theory of nonlinear resonant vibrations and drifts of gyroscopic systems is described. Mechanisms of resonant instability are clarified, and the influence of various factors on the stability of gyroscopic systems under resonance is analyzed. Particular consideration is given to drifts and resonant vibrations of gimbal-suspension three-degree-of-freedom gyros, the stability of a magnetic-suspension gyrocompass on a vibrating base, the resonant vibrations of multirotor gyro systems on vibrating bases, and resonant motions of a rigid body controlled by gyrostabilizers.
