Coherence properties of blackbody radiation between parallel plates
Abstract
Temporal coherence properties of blackbody radiation are examined with respect to the spatial dependence of the coherence in the slab resonator; the temporal and spatial coherence depends on the positions at which the field is considered. The space dependence between two infinitely extended, parallel metallic plates is examined in contrast with infinite isotropic space. It is shown that closed classical trajectories are possible in this system and that they lead to infinite Poincare recurrence times.
