Perturbational Method in Magnetohydrodynamic Turbulence with Special Reference to Magnetic Dynamo
Abstract
Statistical analysis is made of effects of homogeneous turbulence upon magnetic field, in a close relation to the magneticdynamo problem. Using a statisticalmechanical approach developed in the study of inhomogeneous nonmagnetic turbulence, a formula is found for the mean electromotive force playing an important role in dynamo theory. The socalled αeffect, in special, is expressed in a simple form under the pseudoisotropic turbulent field whose statistical properties have an exponential time dependence.
