Solitons in a Convective Motion of a Lowβ Plasma
Abstract
In the present paper it is shown that solitons are formed and propagate in a convective motion of a lowβ plasma in the presence of a weak static electric field normal to an applied magnetic field. The theory is based on a model equation of Hasegawa and Mima and also on the twodimensional ionfluid equation with a Boltzmann distribution from which the model equation is derived, both of which are reduced to the Kortewegde Vries equation.
