Effects of lens aberrations in some experiments of speckle interferometry
Abstract
In order to study lens aberrations in speckle photography systems, the present study has calculated the change in complex amplitude in the pupil of an optical system between two exposures. The complex amplitude in the pupil is considered as the product of a speckle function and a pupil function, where the aberrations are represented by a phase term. It is shown that the translation of the speckle pattern relative to the pupil gives rise to an additional phase term in the second exposure which is a function of the aberrations. This phase term makes it possible to evaluate the deformation or loss of visibility on the speckle interference fringes in the Fourier plane.
