Scattering from periodic arrays of crossed dipoles
Abstract
It is shown that in general the reflection coefficient vs. frequency of symmetrical cross-dipole arrays exhibits two distinct resonances, which occur when the dipole elements are of the order of a half-wavelength long. The presence of an antiresonance is revealed which occurs at a frequency between the two resonances. In addition, the anomalous reflection vs. frequency behavior in such arrays is shown to be directly attributable to two distinct resonances excited in the crossed elements.
