Electromagnetic scattering by a thin conducting flat plate with doubly periodic punched circular apertures
Abstract
An expression for monostatic scattering cross-section was obtained for the case of a large thin metallic flat plate with apertures punched in the form of a planar array. The planar array was treated both as an array of induced electric and magnetic dipoles and as an array of diffracting apertures for parallel and polarizations. It is noted that the first approach is accurate for small apertures, while the second one is appropriate for large apertures.
