Radioacoustic sounding of the atmosphere with continuous acoustic radiation
Abstract
The possibility of using CW or variable-frequency CW sound radiation instead of pulsed sound radiation for radioacoustical atmospheric sounding is considered. A comparative analysis of the accuracy of atmospheric-parameter determination by radioacoustical sounding with each of the three methods is performed. It is shown that the two CW sounding techniques yield more accurate results than the pulsed technique for realistic atmospheric parameters.
