Switching regulators with VMOS power transistors for stepping motors
Abstract
A 5-phase-type RDM 566/50 stepping motor is used to explore the application of VMOS power transistors in stepping motors. The design of the bridge circuit is discussed, and the advantages of using VMOS transistors instead of bipolar transistors are noted. The regulator is taken into account, and it is indicated that the high switching velocity of the VMOS transistors makes it possible to construct a low-loss switched current regulator with hysteresis. The voltage monitoring is considered, and a block circuit diagram with gated automatic gain control is presented.
