Dc-motor speed control with high-voltage Darlington transistor
Abstract
The paper describes a dc-motor control unit (working directly on a rectified 220-VAC line) that operates at frequencies up to 30 kHz with power regulated by pulse duration modulation. Absence of dissipation in the limiting of the armature current permits the type of overload protection that is used. The operation of the transistorized control unit is discussed and a circuit diagram is presented.
