Continuous measurement of electron density in unmagnetised plasmas by a self-oscillating probe
Abstract
It is shown that it is possible to measure continuously the electron plasma density using a mutual impedance probe working in a self-oscillating mode at the plasma frequency. The comparison of the experimental curves obtained in unmagnetised plasmas either in a classic sweep-frequency mode or in a self-oscillating mode emphasizes the excellent accuracy of this new diagnostic method.
