Unsteady radiative heat transport
Abstract
The system of equations and boundary conditions for radiative transport in scattering and absorbing media is studied in a kinetic approximation with allowance for unsteady radiative-conductive heat transfer. The unsteady kinetic equation is solved with the aid of spherical harmonics. The case of a single scattering medium is studied analytically, and a hyperbolic transport equation is obtained in a first approximation. A numerical solution is obtained for the equation of unsteady radiative heat transfer in the approximation of an optically thick medium with radiative heat flux.
