Intramolecular intervalence charge transfer in bimolecular mixed-valence complexes of metals
Abstract
The ellipsoidal cavity model of Kirkwood-Westheimer is extended to the case when charges are located anywhere in the cavity. Within this model the solvent reorganisation energies associated with intramolecular charge transfer are calculated and compared with experimental data.
