On adaptors for generalized wave digital filters

It has been shown recently that generalized wave digital filters can be realized by combining the conventional or old adaptors with a group of new adaptors which may appropriately be termed as generalized adaptors. These generalized adaptors make use of a set of new waves in addition to those employed in old adaptors. In this paper, a second group of generalized adaptors is presented which can be profitably combined with those introduced in a previous paper and with the old adaptors to obtain new filter structures. It is shown that there exist equivalences between the two groups of generalized adaptors leading to the possibility of replacing parallel adaptors by series adaptors and vice versa in a generalized wave digital filter. The relationship between the generalized adaptors and the old adaptors is also discussed.
