A solution for the mean flow parameters in the impingement region of a free jet on a normal flat plate
Abstract
The flow in the impingement region of a plane or axially symmetrical free jet impinging on a normal flat plate is subdivided into outer inviscid flow and wall boundary layer. From a solution of inviscid flow equations, boundary conditions for viscous flow along the wall are derived. The unknown flow variables are represented in the form of power series and the ordinary differential equations resulting from substitution in the governing equations are solved numerically by Runge-Kutta method.
