UBV photometry of T Tauri stars and related objects.
Abstract
Photoelectric UBV measurements of 56 young emission4ine objects of the Orion population are reported. For 47 objects no photoelectric UBV data have been published so far. About 50% of the observed T Tauri stars show a very strong UVexcess. These stars are therefore suspected to belong to the YY Orionis subclass of the T Tauri stars. Ten known YY Orionis stars were measured repeatedly. All these objects were found to exhibit strong variations of their brightness and colours on a timescale of several days or less.
