The linear polarization of Nova Cygni 1978.

Summary. Observations of the linear polarization of Nova Cygni t978 in the UBY bands are presented. The degree of polarization increased from t.6% to t.9% between Oct. 1 and 11, 1978. Mso the position angle of polarization and its wavelength dependence changed. The polarization observations correlate with infrared observations which show that a dust-formation phase started between Oct. 7 and 15. Table 1.
